"Left Hook",16" x 20", oil on canvas, 2019

When I was painting "Left Hook" I had been looking at the warm outlines and confident brush strokes in Robin F. William’s work. The movement within William’s paintings informed the motion and curvilinear lines within my painting. I chose to make idecisions based on intensity when it came to color, confident brush strokes, and action. "Left Hook" is named after the power punch technique called Left Hook. It involves using the left arm, supported prinmarily by the power of the lower body.
