"Starfruit", 10"x10", oil on canvas

This painting is informed by a starfruit. It was inspired by a variety of fruits used in Jewish feasts. While some parts of the painting are painted uniformly flat, other areas are painted with thick impasto paint. The colors of the abstacted areas are inspired by the colors of a starfruit while the shape of the abstracted line area are several tracings of various sizes and fragments of the starfruit. The canvas is a gallery wrapped style, on a 1.5" deep hand-made stretcher frame. My painting was created in 2016.
